Privacy policy
Yum Tum LLC, doing business as Yum Tum. Last updated September 28, 2026.
This privacy policy explains how Yum Tum LLC, doing business as Yum Tum (“Yum Tum”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you order from us on this website. It is our policy, as the restaurant you are ordering from. Our online ordering is run for us by Astrix Shop, our ordering technology provider, which handles your information only on our behalf and following our instructions.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us: your name, phone number and email address, so we can prepare your order, tell you about it and reach you if there is a problem.
- Order details: what you ordered, your choices and notes, the location, pickup time, prices, tax, tip and total, and the order’s status. If we deliver and you choose delivery, also your delivery address and delivery instructions.
- Payment confirmation: whether your payment succeeded, the amount and a payment reference. We do not receive your full card number (see “Card payments” below).
- Technical information: like most websites, the services that run this site record technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site working and secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- Information kept on your device: this site stores your basket and, after you order, your contact details in your browser’s local storage so they are filled in next time. They stay on your device; you can remove them with “Not you?” at checkout or by clearing your browser data. This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Card payments
Card payments are made on the secure payment page of our payment provider, Stripe or Clover (the page you are sent to shows which). Your card details go directly to that provider. They are never seen or stored by us or by Astrix Shop. The payment provider handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
How we use your information
- To take, prepare and hand over your order, and to show you its status.
- To contact you about your order, for example if an item is unavailable, your order is delayed or it is ready. These are messages about your order, not advertising.
- To handle questions, refunds and complaints.
- To prevent fraud and misuse of this website, and to keep it secure.
- To keep the business and tax records the law requires.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising. We do not send you marketing messages from an online order unless you have separately agreed to receive them.
Order status messages
After you order, the order page shows its status. We may also send you messages about that order by email or text message to the contact details you gave. If we text you, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to stop order texts.
Who we share it with
- Our service providers, only to run our online ordering for us: Astrix Shop (the ordering system and its hosting and database providers), our payment provider (Stripe or Clover) and, where we use one, our point-of-sale system, which receives your order so our kitchen can make it.
- Delivery partners, if we offer delivery and you choose it: your name, phone number, address and order details, so they can deliver your order.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
- If our business is sold or transferred, to the new owner, who must respect this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep order records, including the contact details given with the order, for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations, usually up to seven years. Technical logs are kept for a shorter time. Information stored in your browser stays there until you remove it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep some records the law requires). Depending on the state you live in, you may have further rights under your state’s privacy law, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, email techkaroshi@gmail.com or call (212) 555-1234. We may need to confirm your identity first, for example by asking for the phone number or email used for the order.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We and our service providers use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No website or system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Changes apply to orders placed after that date.
